About

I’m Prisha Bhoola. My husband Ketan, our son Hashay and I, are South African expats currently living in the United Arab Emirates.

My day job as an internal auditor in the UAE helps me pay my bills, pay for my love for travel, my excitement for books and my passion for food. My profession demands that I stick to facts and be objective at all times. But that is my day job!

I’ve always loved writing and those close to me say I’ve always been opinionated. So, I guess a blog about my random musings was a natural consequence. I’m not a professional writer, nor am I an IT expert. I have a lot of fun pretending though!

I started At Random in 2009 as a response to the pessimism surrounding my home, South Africa. I am extremely positive about my country but understand that she faces many challenges. Along with sharing my positivity about South Africa, my aim is to provide people with insight into my take on life, politics, travelling and everything in between.

I am proud to be part of Global Voices Online, an international community of bloggers who report on blogs and citizen media from around the world.

Since 2009, posts from At Random have been featured on SA Rocks and Thought Leader. Excerpts from posts have also been linked on Global Voices Online. The blog has become my little baby and I hope someday, it will grow into a thought provoking, informative, but still light-hearted adult.

I would love for you visit me often and share your random thoughts with me too. Alternatively, you could follow me on twitter or inbox me at prishasoma@gmail.com if you prefer conventional email.
