I read a very insightful article this morning. I urge you to read it. Basically, the authors are questioning whether the “Kill the boer” song was really part of the ANC’s liberation struggle heritage.
If the article is true, one has to question whether the ANCYL and indeed, the present leadership in the ANC, are really committed to reconciliation and nation building in South Africa.
I have no doubt that Nelson Mandela or even Thabo Mbeki (all his faults aside) would not have tolerated this song at all.
One has to wonder why Zuma cannot control people within his own party. Is it because by silencing Julius, he would have to admit that he too would have to stop asking for his damned machine gun?
